Places to See

Insadong line 3, exit 6. Straight 100 m and turn left onto Insadong-gil Road  - Tradtional teas, pottery, hanbok, hanji (traditional paper), folk crafts/souvenirs/hand made jewelery

HongdaeHongik University Station line 2. It's known for it's nightlife, shopping, and restaurants.

> Hello Kitty Cafe​ exit 9

> Sushi in Sushi (sushi buffet) exit 9

> Luxury Noraebang exit 9. Mapo-gu Seogyo-dong 367-39

> Prince Edward Noraebang exit 9, same street as Luxury Noraebang

> Clubbing

> Trick Eye Museum exit 9

 

Sinchon line 2. Near famous universities like Yongsei Uni. , Ewha Womans Uni. and Sogang Uni. Busy shopping district with restaurants, bars, and a nice arcade (next to Taco Bell). You can take a short walk to the next station, Ewha Women's University and there is great stores to shop at for the ladies.

Gangnam line 2. Shopping in the subway station with cheap prices.

> Mies Container  - Italian restaurent with supposedly hot guys working there. Expect to wait an hour to get in.

> Dos Tacos exit 10 (walk straight until you almost get to Yeoksam Station Exit 6. It will be on your left.

> Star Flair exit 12. Turn left on the first street and walk down two blocks. It will be on your left, 3nd floor. Unlimited cocktails for 15,000 won.

 

Namdaemun. Hoehyeon Station line 4, exit 5. Shopping. You can find many ginseng shops.

> Little halal stand (name?) right out of exit 5. Best falafals I've had in Seoul.

Cheonggyecheon Stream. The walk along the stream is 5.8 km (3.6 miles) long so there are many stations that you can get to it. Line 1: City Hall, Jonggak, Jongno 3-ga, Jongno 5-ga, Dongdaemun, Sinseol-dong
Line 2: City Hall, Euljiro 1-ga, Euljiro 3-ga, Euljiro 4-ga, Sindang, Sangwangsimni
Line 3: Jongno 3-ga
Line 4: Dongdaemun History & Culture Park
Line 5: Gwanghwamun

N Seoul Tower. Itaewon Station line 6, exit 4. Take Bus 3 to N Seoul Tower. Great view of the city. But I would prefer to hike up Mount Namsan for a breathtaking view of the city.

Noryangjin Fish Market. Noryangin Station line 1. Follow the sign to the market.

Hiking. I would highly recommend hiking Bugaksan and Mount Namsan.

Namsangol Hanok Village. Chungmuro Station Line 3 or 4,  exit 4. Walk along Hanongmaeul-gil st. for 5 minutes. Hours: Apr-Oct: 09:00-21:00 and Nov-Mar: 09:00-20:00. Free admission.

 

 

Palaces: You can purchase a ticket to visit 4 palaces for 10,000 won at any of the palaces and can be used within a month after purchase.

Deoksugung Palace. City Hall Station line 2, exit 2 or 3. Hours: 09:00~18:00 (March ~ October) and 09:00~17:30 (November ~ February). On weekends and holidays the palace is open from 09:00~19:00. Closed on Mondays. Admission is 1,000 won.

 

Gyeongbokgung Palace. Gyeongbokgun Palace Station line 3, exit 5. Hours: 09:00~18:00 (March ~ October) and 09:00~17:00 (November ~ February). Closed on Tuesdays. Admission is 3,000 won. This was the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty and is considered the grandest of all five palaces.

 

​Changdeokgung Palace. Anguk Station line 3, exit 3. Hours: 09:15~17:45 (April ~ October) and 09:15~15:45 (November ~ February). In March, visiting hours are from 09:15~16:45. Entry is permitted every 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The palace is closed Mondays. Entry to the palace is only permitted with a guided tour. Visitors do not have to join the tour on Thursdays. Admission is 3,000 won.  This was my favorite one! ​

 

​

​Changgyeonggung Palace​​. Haehwa Station line 4, exit 4. Hours: Apr - Oct 09:00 ~ 18:30 / Mar, Nov 09:00 ~ 17:30 / Dec - Feb 09:00 ~ 17:00. Admission is 1,000 won.

 

Gyeonghuigung Palace. Seodaemun Station line 5, exit 4. Go straight 150 m up to the Naeil Newspaper Office on the corner and turn right. It will take about 10 min on foot. Hours: Weekdays 09:00 - 18:00 and Weekend 10:00 - 18:00. Free admission.
