Shopping in Seoul

These are common stores found everywhere around Seoul. Just look it up on Google Maps and you should find it!

Daiso - cheap home goods similar to The Dollar Store. There is a huge one in Myeongdong.

Homeplus - they sell everything from home goods to grocery. Note that there are smaller Homeplus stores like Homeplus Express where they sell only grocery. Some locations: Mullae and Sindorim.

E-Mart - they sell everything from home goods to grocery. Note that there are smaller E-Mart stores like Everyday E-Mart where they sell only grocery. Some locations of E-mart stores: Sindorim, Guro Digital Complex, Yeongdeungpo-gu Market (inside Times Square Mall), Yongsan, Yangjae Citizen's Forest and Eungnam.

Costco - if you have a membership from your hometown, you can use it here! They sell whole sale goods that are cheaper than usual. A wide selection of cheeses which are hard to find in Seoul! There are three locations in Seoul: 1) Yeongdeungo-gu line 2 or 5, exit 3. When you come on of exit 3, make an instant U-turn to your left and turn right on the first road. Go past the traffic light and you will see it on your right. 2) Yangjae Citizon's Forest line New Bundang (red) exit 5. Walk down the road for 10-15 mins and it will be on your right. 3) Mangu Station, Jungang line or Gyeongchun line exit 1.

Myeongdong is my favorite place to shop. You can find foreign companies like Forever 21, Gap, Mango, Zara, Uniqlo and H&M along with Korean stores. You can find just about anything there and you can try on the clothes. Myeongdong, line 4, exit 6.

In Dongdaemun, you can find the latest fashions for cheaper. In malls like APM, Good Morning City and Maxstyle you can bargain with the shop owners if you are paying in cash. Doota is a great mall but they are set prices. Dongdaemun (exit 8) or Dongdaemun History & Culture Park (exit 10) on line 4.

In Yongsan, IPark is a huge mall that has just about everything you need. They have international designer brands with the common stores. Attached is the Electronics Market where you bargain with the shop owners. You find almost any electronic item there. There is also an E-Mart. Line 1 Yongsan Stn. Connected to the station.
Jungang Line Yongsan Stn. Connected to the station.
Line 4 Sinyongsan Stn. Exit 3 or 4.

Other malls:

Make your own jewelery or clothes? You can find supplies in Dongdaemun line 1 or 4, exit 8 and 9. Inside Dongdaemun Shopping Complex you can find anything from fabrics, yarns, lace, beads, etc. It is right across from Doota.

Need baking supplies? Go to Bangsan Baking Market! Euljiro 4-ga, line 2 or 5, exit 4. Turn right at the next intersection. Walk about 5 minutes and you will see "방산종 합시장" and you know are at the right place when you see baking supplies!

Sinsa is one of my favorite places. The street is lined with Gingko Biloba trees and there are cute boutique shops and cafes/restaurants. Sinsa Station on line 2, exit 8. Walk 3 blocks and turn left.

In Itaewon, line 6, there are quite a few foreign markets:

Foreign Food Mart exit 3. Walk down the street until you see a Dunkin' Doughnuts which will be on the corner (on your right) and turn right at Seobangseo-gil going up the hill.

High Street Market exit 2. Walk down about 5 minutes until you pass IP Boutique Hotel on your left. 2nd Floor.
